Unit of Inquiry: Who we Are: Relationships

Unit of Inquiry

Our first unit of inquiry is called Who We Are. This unit is about recognising and understanding relationships and how we interact with others.

Central idea:

People’s relationships with each other can have an impact on well-being

The unit will provide opportunities for students to recognize and develop

connections with others. Students will develop an understanding of themselves and the similarities and differences that exist within their relationships. We will be inquiring into how to build and maintain positive relationships and reflect on strategies that help us solve problems (conflict resolution).

Our lines of inquiry are:

●   How we build good relationships
●   Why relationships are important
●   Roles and behaviours within relationships

Learners in 1B sorted out different ways of thinking why relationships are important

Learners in 1B played board games. One person in each group had a card to spoil the game. The  others had to try to get on with them and make the game work. They used this to think about being kind and unkind to each other. Afterward they created a comic strip to show how we react to positive and negative situations.
